As part of our theme “Where We Are in Place and Time,” we visited the Topkapı Palace Museum with our 3rd-grade students to explore and appreciate our cultural heritage. During this enriching trip, our students had the opportunity to closely examine the palace’s fascinating architectural structure. They also observed artifacts from the Ottoman era, including objects used in daily life, and reflected on the historical significance of the palace.Throughout the visit, the students discussed what they saw, trying to understand the lifestyle, artistic expressions, and cultural values of that period. By expressing their observations and interpretations, they gained a deeper appreciation of the palace’s role as a historical treasure. At the end of the visit, we organized a creative activity where the students depicted what they had observed through drawings or writings. This allowed them to consolidate their learning and express their creativity. This meaningful trip was an unforgettable experience, fostering the students’ awareness and connection to our cultural heritage.
