April 25th marks the celebration of ‘World DNA Day’ in the scientific community. Originating in 2003 by the U.S. National Human Genome Research Institute, this day pays tribute to the seminal work published in Nature on April 25th, 1953, unraveling the structure of DNA by J. Watson, F. Crick, M. Wilkins, R. Franklin, and colleagues. The aim? To elevate awareness and understanding of DNA and genetic science worldwide.
In honor of this occasion, students from Özel Mürüvet Evyap Science High School and College showcased their creative DNA models, while also engaging in hands-on DNA isolation from strawberry fruits. Their dedication to science is commendable, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the students and Biology teachers who contributed to this enriching experience. 🧬
