A seminar titled “Emotion Regulation in Adolescence: The Role of Parents” was held for the parents of 5th and 6th grade students. Led by Psychological Counselor and Guidance Teacher Nurşen Bostancıoğlu, the seminar focused on the concepts of emotion and emotion regulation, discussing the effects of brain development and hormonal changes on emotions during adolescence. Based on family therapist John Gottman’s emotion coaching approach, suggestions were provided to parents on how they can become emotion coaches for their children. Additionally, various materials that parents can use to support their children’s emotion regulation were introduced, and at the end of the seminar, participants received a “Emotion Wheel” as a gift.
